  • Spybot Search & Destroy 1.4 – Spybot Search & Destroy is one of the best free antispyware tools. Spybot Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn’t intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. If you suspect your computer to be infected with spyware, then it is recommended that you run a scan with HijackThis and then post your log file on a support forum, where someone will be able to suggest which entries to remove.

  • nLite – nLite is a tool for permanent Windows component removal and pre-installation Windows setup. After removal there is an option to make bootable image ready for burning on cd or testing in virtual machines. With nLite you will be able to have Windows installation which on install doesn’t include, or even contain on cd, unwanted components.
  • DOSBox – DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. You can “re-live” the good old days with the help of DOSBox, it can run plenty of the old classics that don’t run on your new computer!
  • nmap – Nmap (“Network Mapper”) is a free open source utility for network exploration or security auditing. It was designed to rapidly scan large networks, although it works fine against single hosts. Nmap uses raw IP packets in novel ways to determine what hosts are available on the network, what services (application name and version) those hosts are offering, what operating systems (and OS versions) they are running, what type of packet filters/firewalls are in use, and dozens of other characteristics.     • Add to Del.icio.us – This simple but effective plugin gives your users an easy way of adding the post to their del.icio.us archive.
    • WordPress Database Backup – On-demand backup of your WordPress database.
    • Subscribe To Comments – Allows readers to recieve notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry
    • Related Posts – Returns a list of the related entries based on keyword matches.
    • Akismet – What is there to say? This is the best spam catcher I’ve ever run into.

    • Feedburner Feed Replacement – Forwards all feed traffic to Feedburner while creating a randomized feed for Feedburner to pull from.
    • Random Quotes – Manage random quotes within the administration panel, provides a lot of personalization in implementation by providing neat CSS classes.
    • wpStats – Much like wp-shortstat except, cleaner works with wordpress 2 and has more features.
    • WP lightbox JS – Lightbox JS is a simple, unobtrusive script used to to overlay images on the current page written by Lokesh Dhakar. Add rel=”lightbox” attribute to any link tag to activate the lightbox. This plugin integrate its feature into your WordPress blog.
    • Audio player – Lets you insert audio mp3 files into your posts. Comes with it’s own flash music player
    • Structured Blogging – Structured Blogging is a way to get more information on the web in a way that’s more usable. You can enter information in this form and it’ll get published on your blog like a normal entry, but it will also be published in a machine-readable format so that other services can read and understand it.
    • Permalink Redirect – Redirects less than ideal URLs to their corrected versions. This includes adding slashes on post slugs, or redirecting to a permalink URL when a query string (?post_id=) URL is given.
    • Wordspew Ajax LiveChat eXtended – adds a Live Chat Box to your WordPress Site
    • Less – Less is more. Less is a WordPress plugin that makes reading posts more intuitive for your many readers. With Less, when readers click a (more…) link they see the full article on the screen, not just the part after the (more…).

    • LiveJournal Crossposter – Automatically copies all posts to a LiveJournal or other LiveJournal-based blog. Editing or deleting a post will be replicated as well.
    • RusToLat – This plugin convert cyrillic characters in post title to latin characters. Very usefull for russian-speaking users of WordPress. You can use this plugin for creating human-readable links.
    • Related Entries – Returns a list of the related entries based on keyword matches.
    • Filemanager Tinymce Editor – WordPress 2.0 Plugin – - Files upload, delete, rename, move (also multiple file actions but upload) – Directory create, delete – insert Download Link into Post with Filetype Image and/or Filesize and/or Date – can acces htacces protected folders .. at least with my server-config – sort FileList by Name / Size / Date
    • FetchRSS – Embeds an RSS reader into a page.
    • F Gallery – Displays a gallery of your flickr photos.
    • Croissanga – Croissanga is a WordPress plugin that re-posts your published-status posts to your Xanga site. It also edits and deletes Xanga posts you initially created through WordPress.
    • Evermore – Evermore is a WordPress plugin that automatically displays a short preview of your posts. The preview appears on the home page, and also the archive and category pages. For each post, the first paragraph is shown along with a link to read the full post.
    • OpenID Comments for WordPress – This plugin will allow users to leave comments using their OpenID identities.
    • WP-Lists – Because quite a few of the my posts contain lists which may be added to later, I find it easy to manage them using this plugin, which adds a screen in the Manage section. There is a QuickTag button to add a list to the post.
    • Weighted Categories – Template tag to display a weighted list of category links
    • WordPress Reports – Generates reports from Google Analytics and Feedburner data.
    • Author Highlight – Author Highlight is a plugin that prints out a user-specified class attribute if the comment is made by the specified author. It is useful if you would like to apply a different style to comments made by yourself.
    • Popularity Contest – This plugin takes into account the views, comments and trackbacks each post gets and sorts them into order of popularity, and the percentage is in comparison to the most popular post. You can adjust the weighting each element has as well.
